There are several factors that can give rise to melanin changes resulting in the formation of spots on the epidermis. Ageing of the skin, genetic predisposition, excessive exposure to the sun, use of perfumes, intake or topical use of photosensitizing or phototoxic drugs, hormonal changes as a consequence of menopause or pregnancy, and last but not least some metabolic alterations are among the causes responsible for the appearance of skin spots and dyschromia.

Melasma or Chloasma

These skin discolourations occur more frequently during pregnancy or as a consequence of taking the contraceptive pill due to changes in sex hormones such as oestrogen. Excessive exposure to the sun is the trigger in these conditions.

Ephelides

Not to be confused with lentigines, they are genetically transmitted and are small, light-brown, ochre-coloured spots. They are more frequent in individuals belonging to phototype 1, with fair skin and red hair.

Freckles or lentigines (solar or actinic)

Round hyperpigmented spots with regular, dark, brown, or black borders. They appear in adulthood or following sunburn, especially on the face and shoulders.

Senile lentigo

 They occur in old age, mainly on the face and back of the hands. They are the result of an increase in the number of melanocytes and excessive melanin production.

NIACINAMIDE (Nicotinamide): A potent anti-ageing agent that strengthens the skin's defensive barrier function, builds up proteins, retains moisture and protects against environmental stress and UV 2 radiation. This ingredient reduces hyperpigmentation, increases skin radiance and inhibits melanin overproduction.

  2. GLABRIDIN: Isoflavone extracted from Liquorice roots. It is known for its depigmenting properties and ability to inhibit age-related inflammatory processes..

  3. KOJIC ACID (kojic acid): A substance with extraordinary lightening virtues. It is widely used in cosmetics to prepare creams or gels with depigmenting action.

  4. ARBUTIN: A natural lightening agent that prevents uneven hyperpigmentation of the skin, often due to prolonged sun exposure, ageing and hormonal changes.

How to use?

Apply twice a day only on the area to be treated. Massage with your fingertips until completely absorbed, taking care not to apply the product outside the affected area. Apply a high protection factor before exposure to sunlight. WARNING: Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow. Do not use the product if the primary packaging is damaged.
